shores, hungry people in the squares, crammed people begging for their papers
... Many of us have seen and experienced these shameful images at the Evros
River and on islands before they become headlines and news bulletins, where we
were sent to serve the compulsory Military of the Absurd as slave workers and
simultaneously as meat for their canons. Shock monopolizes our discussions. Not
intending on this becoming new routine. While not having grown accustomed to and
not having accepted the memoranda and the unpopular policies, imperialist
interventions and their dirty wars, we will not accept and not get used to the
refugees' plight. It is also the plight of our own people, of our own world,
the working world regardless of ethnicity-religion-race! The so-called
"peak of migration flows" means fleeing wars and uprooting. It is not
a natural occurrance. There are those responsible. It's their capitalistic
crisis. To overcome this, they abolish our rights, flinging us into hunger,
poverty, Unemployment, into new immigration. It's the USA, NATO, the EU, China
and Russia. They impose their financial interests using terror and death,
maintaining and reviving new passions and hostilities, feeding on religious
fundamentalism. They're the regional imperialistic powers (Turkey, Israel,
Greece, Arab governments) that sharpen rivalries in the region. Those who speak
of failed states and inferior nations, those who treat people as garbage and
take part in sweep operations, transforming entire zones into human storage
dumps for brutal exploitation! The Enemy of the urban classes and nations is
one: the employees, whether they fight for their rights or are moving about
without their permission, even when it was their interventions that led to the
uprooting. But even then, refugees can't choose where to go: they direct
migration flows to modern-day Concentration Camps selecting workers to be
squeezed dry at hot spots! Of course to be gotten rid of, with returns,when
they're not needed any more or when they try to better themselves... The Greek
state and the army are part of the problem and not its solution. The
SYRIZA-ANEL government continues the War on Terror, participates in
imperialistic plans, targets the "Asymmetric Threats" (immigrants,
social movements), playing on the false distinction of good war refugees - bad
economic migrants. The Armed Forces call on us, the soldiers alongside
mercenaries and executives, to make war on the "Internal Enemy", as
in the recent Parmenionas 2015 exercise! In this tour of
death-exploitation-oppression, the "enemies" Greece and Turkey will
jointly patrol the Aegean, cooperating in harmony! Furthermore, the EU
battlefront starts from Gibraltar ending in the Aegean, with Frontex taking a
decisive role. A Greek submarine participates in the European fleet that
operates in the Libyan territorial waters. We, the 16th Division in Evros, are
on guard against immigrants coming from Andrianopolis. We're ordered to take
part in Crowd Suppression Drills, as in Kos after the dramatic events in
Kalymnos when the governor requested military law to turn arms against
hungry-thirsty-imprissoned immigrants. We guard the murderous fence which is
the real reason of all the drownings in the Aegean. WE DON'T FIGHT DO NOT SUPPRESS
DON'T CHASE AFTER IMMIGRANTS We, the battling soldiers are against all this. Of
their old and new crimes. We call on a Mass Movement, both Inside and Out of
the Army. To block the constant killing of Frontex, NATO, the Euro army, the
actions of the Armed Forces in every way. We don't participate in arrest
patrols. We assist in demolishing fences and not creating new ones. No soldier
enter international mission vessels. Ships, submarines and aircraft be anchored
at their bases, no assistance to supply them. We refuse to convert the Greek
army into a repressive apparatus whether that involves immigrants or social
movements. We will not accept in covering social strucutre shortages with
"volunteer labour". For us asymmetric threat is the war being waged against
us by the governments and the interests they support. We call on our colleagues
to not only show compassion but to take note of their common class interests.
The same urban institutions, the same urban policies, the same urban
governments ruining our dreams also. What the refugees are now going through,
constant persecution by totalitarian mechanisms of every kind, the struggle for
dignity and survival, their sad present is for many of us the present and
future nightmare that we should not experience. It is the Parliamentary
Totalitarianism state with Golden Dawn NAZI collaborators. We are aware the
coming rebellions will find those on the bottom rung either united together or
in conflict. Today there isn't a larger solidarity in practice and greatest
service to ourselves than attacking the problem at its roots. We are part of a
modern anti-war and labour movement that can exist only within a working class,
anticapitalistic and internationalist perspective. With Resistance, Breaching,
